SnykCon 2021: 5 reasons to submit your talk

0 Min. LesezeitWhat makes a conference like SnykCon great? It’s free, open to everyone, virtual (at least this year), and features amazing talks from users and customers who share best practices, tips and tricks, and success stories to help others in their journey to developer-first security.
We’re a little less than halfway through our SnykCon Call for Presentations (CFP) and we wanted to remind everyone that the last day to submit a session is July 16.
So far, we’ve seen a variety of talks that span the theme for this year’s SnykCon: Build Securely. There are submissions for enabling developer-first security, for making DevSecOps more efficient, for improving AppSec through education, and much more. If you’re thinking about submitting, or are just curious about the different topics you’ll see at SnykCon 2021, here are our suggested ideas for sticking to the theme:
Developer-first tools - Enable developers to code securely within their CLI, IDEs, and repositories.
Secure from the start - Shift security left to build faster, more efficiently.
Vulnerabilities in context - Manage vulnerabilities while balancing features and security debt.
Misconfigurations are vulnerabilities - Actionable tips for securing containers and cloud infrastructure.
Foster cross-team collaboration - Best practices for bringing Engineering and Security teams together to solve security problems.
Security controls that support DevSecOps - Automate security testing within existing workflows, pipelines, and processes.
We’re offering a few different types of sessions this year. We have the standard Main Stage talks that appeal to a wider security-minded audience, as well as Lightning Talks that break up the long talks and can be about almost anything. We’ll also be offering three concurrent tracks — Build & Code, Govern & Empower, and Product — for learning about tips, tricks, tools, best practices, and Snyk roadmap information. And throughout, we’ll be offering Demos and hands-on Workshops for people to see what Snyk and our robust ecosystems of partners can do.
Here are five reasons to submit a talk:
Showcase your expertise to a wide audience. We expect to have more than 10,000 attendees at SnykCon who will have the opportunity to see your talk.
Share the successes of your team. Developer-first security is a team sport. Sharing your story allows for you to highlight the work of your team, individuals, and company.
Help your company attract engineering and security talent. Top talent wants to know that your company is working with innovative technologies and approaches.
Build your Snyk network. Submitting a talk will enable you to build your network with Snyk’s product and technical experts, community team, and more.
Do it for Patch!!! Snyk’s infamous mascot, Patch, loves talks! Get new, special Snyk swag for yourself and your team if your talk is accepted.
On top of receiving so many sessions submissions so soon, we’ve also seen a tremendous amount of interest to date with registrations. People are registering from companies of all sizes around the globe. From big names like Salesforce, Volvo, Microsoft, RBC, and Google to small start-up companies, they’re all registering to learn about the best ways to build security into the software development lifecycle. If you haven’t registered yet, don’t wait until the last minute. Register today for free and put SnykCon on your calendar.
