Snyk Voted Next European Unicorn for B2B Enterprise

We are pretty excited to share that last week Snyk was recognized as a ‘Next European Unicorn’ at the 2019 Vivatech Awards. In the 'B2B for Enterprise' category, Snyk was considered along with many amazing companies, including the UK payments brand GoCardless, and the French data science company Daitaku.

The competition was launched by Vivatech and Les Echos to identify the most innovative, fastest-growing unicorns (companies valued over $1 billion or more). A total of thirty entrants were selected by Vivatech and Accel Partners fund, and judged by a panel of unicorn founders, investment funds and journalists. Companies were judged across five categories, B2B for large accounts; B2B for SMEs; B2C; DeepTech; and Tech for Good, and were particularly scrutinized for their policies on diversity.

I attended the ceremony last Thursday, May 16th in Paris where Snyk was announced as the winner of the B2B for Enterprise category. We won the category as a result of Snyk’s innovative approach to helping enterprises secure their complete software development life cycle, enabling developers to successfully secure their open source components and maintain speed of delivery; our rapid growth over the last several years; and in recognition of our commitment to supporting the open source community.

It was an honor to join such an impressive list of contenders and to join in the discussion about new innovation happening in the European tech market. The awards were presented by John Chambers, the legendary emeritus CEO and Chairman of Cisco. Few people have his ability to anticipate market shifts and act accordingly, and it was amazing to get his endorsement of Snyk and our dev-first mission.

I believe Snyk is poised to disrupt the security industry by staying ahead of the next market transition, which is the key to success in today’s fast-changing environment. The company’s focus on open source and software security tackles a growing problem in the Digital Age, which is still overlooked by existing players.
