I’m thrilled to announce that Adriana Bokel Herde joins Snyk today as our new Chief People Officer. In this next pivotal phase in our journey, Adriana will lead our talent development, talent attraction, people experience, and operations teams in addition to critical areas such as diversity and inclusion and talent branding.

Adriana is having the baton passed to her by Dipti Salopek, a veteran Snyker who will be taking on a new challenge as Chief of Staff, CEO Office. Dipti will now be responsible for continuing the acceleration of our hyper growth trajectory by overseeing a number of priority initiatives critical to Snyk.

Originally from Brazil, Adriana is a true international citizen having lived and worked in the U.S., Germany, and Switzerland. She joins us from Pegasystems, where she has served as their Chief People Officer since 2018. Prior to her impactful time with Pega, she held HR leadership roles at Biogen, Parexel, and PeopleDoc. Significantly, Adriana also embodies the “always be learning” spirit that drives so many Snykers, and her impressive career has been continuously defined by her passion for changing the way people experience HR and expanding both her perspective and existing knowledge base.

As we kick off what promises to be an incredibly exciting and action packed fall, this quote from Emerson is resonating with me as an apt mantra for our next growth stage: The task ahead of us is never as great as the power behind us. As I wrote about last week, we already know that business and government leaders worldwide, including the Biden Administration, recognize that the “task ahead is great” with our collective cybersecurity posture being one of the existential threats to our current way of life. With nearly half a million public and private cybersecurity jobs currently unfilled, it’s never been more crucial to enlist the world’s 27 million (and growing) developers in our fight to achieve a more secure world.

That’s the task. But I believe that the power behind us is indeed greater as it includes each one of those 27 million developers in addition to every Snyker worldwide.

I’m confident that in her new role, Adriana will effectively harness this power in order to both empower our current Snykers, as well as attract the very best (and diverse, supportive, and fun!) new talent the industry has to offer. My trust in her stems from the depth and breadth of her professional experience and international profile, as well as our fundamental shared belief that no matter how fast we grow and scale as an organization, the entire Snyk Leadership Teamneeds to strive to continuously put our people first.

Adriana is one of several new leaders we’ve recently added to the Snyk Leadership Team following the hiring of Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, Jeff Yoshimura, CIO Erica Geil and Vice President, Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) Sales, Shaun McLagan earlier this year. We’re also currently hiring across almost every function, at every level, worldwide so if you’re interested in joining the leader in developer security, visit our Jobs at Snyk page to apply today.

Please join me in welcoming Adriana to the Snyk family, as well as thanking Dipti for all she’s done for us in her Snyk career to date and the great things we know that she’ll accomplish in her new role. I’m honored  — and Snyk is lucky  — to have these two dynamic leaders on this remarkable journey with us!
