As Snyk’s CEO, my strength as an individual leader, as well as our collective strength in the market is only as strong as the team I’m surrounded and supported by. My number one job is to be talent obsessed, with the ultimate goal of building a Leadership team where everyone’s unique gifts and diverse experience effectively complement each other to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Today, Snyk becomes that much more formidable with the addition of Adi Sharabani as our new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

In this critical role, Adi will be responsible for setting both our short and long-term vision to evolve the industry’s leading developer security platform. Off the bat, he’s enthusiastic to prioritize spending a large part of his time close to Snyk’s technologies and deployments. He will oversee Snyk Labs, where the ideas to fuel our future innovation are born and incubated, and plans to collaborate directly with our customers, working together to anticipate what’s next to ensure we’re continuously staying one step ahead of emerging industry needs.

Before any of us knew what was to come, Adi was actually on this journey with myself and Guy since well before Snyk was Snyk. We first crossed professional paths at Watchfire, which eventually became part of IBM. It was during his time at Big Blue, where he spearheaded the strategy to improve the security of all Rational products, that Adi recognized firsthand the need to turn the old security playbook upside down, allowing the developers building our future to also have the power to secure it.

Having experienced the pain points associated with attempting to successfully balance the speed of innovation with meaningful security protection, Adi ultimately became one of Snyk’s early investors and has served as an ongoing advisor to the company since our 2015 founding. In that time, he’s consistently been a strong advocate for Snyk’s developer security approach as well as further DevSecOps adoption industry-wide.

Following his time with IBM, Adi co-founded and served as the CEO of Skycure, a leading mobile threat defense solution that was ultimately acquired by Symantec in 2017 (following the M&A, Adi served as the SVP & GM of Endpoint Solutions at SYMC, successfully leading a $650M business unit). From this time at the helm of Skycure, Adi brings a rare understanding and appreciation for all parts of the business as CTO, having demonstrated himself to be equally adept at both strategy and execution in addition to his indisputable technical know-how and expertise.

Finally, and perhaps most significantly, I have personally witnessed Adi consistently embody the values all Snykers hold dear by continually pushing himself and his teams to think bigger, while also caring deeply for each other and the communities in which they work and live. Adi is an insatiable lifelong learner and never content to settle for the status quo. To this end, he has filed 25+ application security patents, helping to define this space in its earliest days and is deservedly considered an industry pioneer. Alongside his many accomplishments in private industry, Adi is also rightfully proud to have played a significant role in conceptualizing and implementing the cyber defense curriculum now available to most of Israel’s high school students.

As you can clearly see, it’s not hyperbole when I say I cannot imagine anyone more well suited to take on the exhilarating challenges associated with the Snyk CTO role than Adi. I know that both his natural disposition and deep expertise as a cybersecurity leader and practitioner will prove invaluable in this next pivotal chapter of the Snyk story.

Please join me in wishing him luck as he takes on this next opportunity — his greatest yet!
