Fetch the Flag Capture the Flag (CTF) Contest

HOW TO ENTER: The Fetch the Flag CTF Contest (“Contest”) will begin on February 27, 2025 at 9AM EST, and end on February 27, 2025 at 9PM EST.  You may enter by completing a form found at snyk.io/events/ctf/  prior to the end of the Contest (“Participant”). Snyk Limited ("Sponsor"), together with its affiliates, subsidiaries, and third-party providers necessary for hosting the Contest (collectively "Promotion Parties") shall administer this Contest.  The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to residents worldwide, 18 years of age and older (or the age of majority in their state or country of residence, whichever is older) as of February 27, 2025 who are not employed by or otherwise affiliated with a competitor of Sponsor, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion.  Current employees, interns, contractors, officers, or directors of Promotion Parties or their affiliates, are eligible to participate in the Contest, but not to win a prize. All entrants must have a valid e-mail address to receive the prize. You may enter only once; however, no more than one entry per person is permitted. Use of any robotic, automatic, programmed, or similar entry method or entering more than the number of times permitted will void all entries and result in disqualification. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules.

TERMS: The Promotion Parties reserve the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, Promotion Parties may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Promotion Parties. Promotion Parties reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or violates these Official Rules.  Promotion Parties have the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Contest, to void entries for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by Contest rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.

WINNING: The winners shall be determined by the number of challenges completed by a registered team of five Participants (a “Team”) ; and in the event of a tie the Team that completed the challenges the fastest.  The top three (3) winning Teams shall win a prize, as further set forth below. Winners shall be notified via e-mail, and must respond with the information requested in order to receive the prize.  Failure to respond within seven (7) business days will result in forfeiture of prize and Sponsor shall have the option to award the prize to an alternate winner. The return of any prize notification or prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. All income taxes resulting from acceptance of the prize are the responsibility of the winner. A winner’s list will be posted on the Contest page after completion or you may request a list by writing to taylor.macomber@snyk.io. By entering the Contest, entrant accepts and agrees to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final in all matters.  

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering this Contest, entrants waive all right to, and hold the Promotion Parties harmless from, any claim, liability, loss, damage (including punitive, incidental, and consequential damages), or expense (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with participation in this Contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. Promotion Parties will not be responsible for: late, incomplete, or incorrect entries; an entrant's failure to receive prize notices due to entrant's spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for entrants' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information; technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this Contest; by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Contest; or any typographical, technological, or other error in the publishing of the offer, administration of the Contest, or announcement of the prizes. If, in the Sponsor’s opinion, there is such an error, or there is any suspected evidence of tampering with any portion of the Contest, or if technical difficulties (including viruses and bugs) compromise the integrity of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right to request that the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, cancel or modify this Contest in a manner deemed appropriate by the Sponsor. In the event of termination, winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received as of date of termination. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning entrant, entries will be declared made by the name on the online entry form. 

PRIZES: The Prizes shall include as follows: At the end of the Contest, the teams in First Place, Second Place, and Third Place as shown on the leaderboard, will receive a prize of one Meta Quest 3S 128GB (valued at approximately $300 USD) per Participant on the winning Teams. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted by the winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes will be awarded. If a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will not be obligated to award the applicable prize to any other Participant. 

CHOICE OF LAW AND FORUM: Entrant agrees that all matters arising out of or relating to this Contest and these Official Rules are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without giving effect to any of its conflict of laws provisions thereof. Entrant further agrees that any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Contest and these Official Rules shall be brought exclusively in the applicable federal or state courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

By entering the Contest, you agree to receive email and other forms of communication periodically from Promotion Parties. You can opt-out of receiving these communications in accordance with opt-out feature in the applicable communication, or as otherwise indicated in the Privacy Policy.
