Earning Swag By Fixing Security Vulnerabilities Giveaway and Raffle Official Rules

1. These rules and any other rules specified by Snyk Limited or any of its group of companies (“Sponsor”) apply to the Earning Swag By Fixing Vulnerabilities Giveaway and Raffle (the “Promotion”), which is run by or on behalf of the Sponsor. By participating in the Promotion, each entrant (“Entrant”) agrees to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to the Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant and/or winner in its absolute discretion for any reason and without notice in accordance with the Promotion rules.

2. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

3. HOW TO ENTER: The Promotion runs from 12:00 am GMT February 1st, 2023 until 12:00 pm GMT March 14th, 2023 (“Qualifying Dates”). The first 2,000 individuals who register for The Big Fix event will win a prize by using their Snyk account to identify and fix at least one security vulnerability in any project which the Entrant uploads to the Snyk platform. Entrants must have a Snyk account to enter. Individuals can sign up for a Snyk account at www.snyk.io.

   Additionally, to qualify for an opportunity to win one of six raffled prizes, Entrants must upload at least three projects into their Snyk account during the Qualifying Dates for a single entry into the raffle. Entrants may enter multiple times and may enter via multiple Snyk accounts, but the use of any robotic, automatic, programmed, or similar entry method will void all entries and result in disqualification. Entries received before or after the Qualifying Dates will be disqualified.

4. ELIGIBILITY: Open to residents worldwide (excluding Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine, China, Russia and Belarus) 18 years of age and older (or the age of majority in their state or country of residence, whichever is older) as of February 1st, 2023, except for employees of Sponsor and is group companies (collectively "Promotion Parties"), and members of their immediate family or persons living in the same household. This Promotion is void where prohibited by local law, rule or regulation.

5. ENTRIES: by participating in the Promotion, each Entrant warrants to the Sponsor that they are legally entitled to enter the Promotion. Entrants acknowledge and accept that the Sponsor shall be entitled to use any fixes identified by Entrant in any manner determined by the Sponsor in its absolute discretion. Entrants also acknowledge and accept that their username, and the number of fixes identified by them, may be featured on a leaderboard related to the Promotion.

6. WINNING AND PRIZES: The first 2,000 Entrants who register for the Promotion and fix at least one security vulnerability within the Qualifying Dates in any project using their Snyk account will be entitled to receive a limited edition The Big Fix t-shirt. Each shirt is valued at approximately $15.00 USD. Entrants will be notified via e-mail once the event has ended and shall respond with the information requested to claim their prize. Limited to one prize per Entrant. At the point of prize redemption, Entrants will be given the option to sponsor an open source project of their choice, via a gift card, instead of redeeming a t-shirt. Entrants who select this option forgo their entitlement to a t-shirt.

   Additionally, winners shall be determined by the number of vulnerabilities fixed. Each participant earns points depending on the type of vulnerability they fix: 4 points for each critical vulnerability, 3 points for each high level vulnerability, 2 points for each medium level vulnerability, and 1 point for each low level vulnerability. The top three (3) participants displayed on the leaderboard on March 14th 2023 at 12:00 pm GMT shall win a prize, as follows: first place prize is one Oculus Quest 2 Advanced All-in-One VR Headset valued at approximately $469.45; second place prize is one Environ™ Wireless Speaker valued at approximately $135.00; and third place prize is one R3 2560 Project Starter Kit Compatible with Arduino valued at approximately $46.25.

   Additionally, six Entrants who upload at least three projects into their Snyk account during the Qualifying Dates will be randomly selected once the Promotion has ended on March 14th, 2023 and shall each be entitled to win one limited edition The Big Fix Hard Enamel Coin. Each coin is valued at $17.60. Winners shall be notified via email once the event has ended and shall respond with the information requested to claim their prize. Limited to one raffle prize per Entrant.

   The prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted by the winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes will be awarded. Fulfillment may be performed by a third party acting on behalf of the Sponsor. Entrants may have to provide verification of their age or identity.

   Failure to respond within 14 business days, and/or any non-compliance with these rules, will result in forfeiture of prize. The return of any prize notification or prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification. All income taxes resulting from acceptance of the prize are the responsibility of the winner. Acceptance of a prize also constitutes permission for the Promotion Parties to use winner's name, and likeness, and biographical information for marketing purposes without further compensation or right of approval, unless prohibited by law. The name(s) of the winner(s) and details of the winning entry or entries will be sent to anyone who requests the same within three months of the Promotion.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering this event, Entrants waive all right to, and hold the Promotion Parties harmless from, any claim, liability, loss, damage (including punitive, incidental, and consequential damages), or expense (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with participation in this event or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. Promotion Parties will not be responsible for: late, incomplete, or incorrect entries; an entrant's failure to receive prize notices due to entrant's spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for entrants' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information; technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this event; by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this event; or any typographical, technological, or other error in the publishing of the offer, administration of the event, or announcement of the prizes. If, in the Sponsor’s opinion, there is such an error, or there is any suspected evidence of tampering with any portion of the event, or if technical difficulties (including viruses and bugs) compromise the integrity of the event, Sponsor reserves the right to request that the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, cancel or modify this event in a manner deemed appropriate by the Sponsor. In the event of termination, winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received as of date of termination. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning entrant, entries will be declared made by the name on the online entry form.

   If the Promotion is run on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social media platforms, Entrants agree to release such platforms, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents, from any claims and damages, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with the Promotion. The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform.

8. CHOICE OF LAW AND FORUM: Entrant agrees that all matters arising out of or relating to this event and these Official Rules are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales, without giving effect to any of its conflict of laws provisions thereof. Entrant further agrees that any disputes arising in relation to the Promotion or these rules shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (save that the Sponsor shall be entitled to take action against a third party in any other jurisdiction). If any of these rules are deemed to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the affected rules shall be deleted from these rules but the remaining rules shall continue in full force and effect.

9. PRIVACY: Sponsor shall collect Entrants’ usernames and email addresses during registration for the Promotion. Usernames shall only be used to show each Entrant’s position in the leaderboard. Email addresses provided during registration shall only be used for the purposes of administering this Promotion.
