Welcoming Gary Olson: Snyk’s new Chief Revenue Officer

I’m thrilled to announce that Gary W. Olson has joined Snyk as our new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

As the recent explosion of GenAI has resulted in both greater developer productivity as well as more insecure code than ever before, developer security has emerged as a critical component of every global enterprise’s overall cybersecurity strategy. Today, Snyk is the leader of this category we pioneered, but we believe the industry must see significant maturation in 2024 in order to keep pace with the evolving needs of global developer and security teams.

To continue to dominate the market, we need to consistently deliver demonstrable value to every one of our customers, regardless of their size and across all geographies and industries. To kick off the year, I’m proud to say that we’ve already come out of the gate strong — announcing an important strategic partnership with Deloitte, acquiring Helios to turbocharge our holistic app risk management vision and making key hires to accelerate our innovation roadmap. Gary’s expertise will prove to be another key puzzle piece as we continue to build upon this momentum.

Gary comes to us with close to three decades of experience growing trusted, well-executed go-to-market (GTM) teams within large, multi-faceted cybersecurity and SaaS organizations. Most recently, he served as the VP of Global Sales for AT&T Cybersecurity, overseeing GTM strategy as AT&T launched its standalone managed security services business. Gary’s valuable experience also dates back to his time with Zscaler, where he played a key role on the executive team that took that cybersecurity leader public. Prior to Zscaler, he also held senior-level leadership positions with Fortune 500 companies including BMC Corporation, Blue Coat Systems, Sun Microsystems and PTC.

Gary is a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving our country in Desert Storm. He’s also a proud husband and father to three daughters, and you can often find him in skis, snowshoes, or golf cleats (when he’s not out in the field with Snyk’s customers!)

I’m humbled to have a professional of Gary’s caliber join us at this pivotal point in our journey. I’m confident that his leadership will help us to win the trust of more enterprises, drive global developer adoption and continue to disrupt legacy security players in 2024 and beyond.
