Upgrade Ubuntu:16.04
libxpm
to version 1:3.5.11-1ubuntu0.16.04.1+esm1 or higher.
NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libxpm
package and not the libxpm
package as distributed by Ubuntu
.
See How to fix?
for Ubuntu:16.04
relevant fixed versions and status.
A flaw was found in libXpm. When processing files with .Z or .gz extensions, the library calls external programs to compress and uncompress files, relying on the PATH environment variable to find these programs, which could allow a malicious user to execute other programs by manipulating the PATH environment variable.
