CVE-2018-1000001 Open this link in a new tabHow to fix?
Upgrade Ubuntu:14.04
eglibc
to version 2.19-0ubuntu6.14 or higher.
NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream eglibc
package and not the eglibc
package as distributed by Ubuntu
.
See How to fix?
for Ubuntu:14.04
relevant fixed versions and status.
In glibc 2.26 and earlier there is confusion in the usage of getcwd() by realpath() which can be used to write before the destination buffer leading to a buffer underflow and potential code execution.
