Upgrade Amazon-Linux:2018.03
glibc-common
to version 0:2.17-222.173.amzn1 or higher.
This issue was patched in ALAS-2018-1017
.
NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream glibc-common
package and not the glibc-common
package as distributed by Amazon-Linux
.
See How to fix?
for Amazon-Linux:2018.03
relevant fixed versions and status.
In glibc 2.26 and earlier there is confusion in the usage of getcwd() by realpath() which can be used to write before the destination buffer leading to a buffer underflow and potential code execution.
