Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-http is an is a http module for jetty server.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to HTTP Request Smuggling in the chunked request parsing of HttpParser, which accepts a lone LF, rather than CRLF, as the line terminator for chunk extensions, chunk data, and trailers. An attacker can make Jetty and an intermediary proxy interpret different request boundaries, smuggling a request past the proxy, by sending an HTTP/1.1 chunked request whose chunk or trailer terminators use a bare LF. This requires a front-end proxy that parses the chunk framing differently from Jetty, and the exact LF handling depends on the configured HTTP compliance mode.
Remediation
Upgrade org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-http to version 12.0.38, 12.1.12 or higher.

Overview
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Implementation of Authentication Algorithm due to lossy ISO-8859-1 encoding in the digest hash computation. An attacker can log in as a user with a non-Latin-1 password by supplying a collision password that replaces each non-ASCII character with ?, producing the same digest response hash. The vulnerable code feeds the username/password material into getBytes(StandardCharsets.ISO_8859_1) when computing the digest values, so characters above U+00FF are silently substituted before hashing. That lets an attacker authenticate successfully with a different password while the victim’s Digest-authenticated account accepts the forged response.
Remediation

Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server is a lightweight highly scalable java based web server and servlet engine.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) via the ThreadLimitHandler.getRemote() method. An attacker can exhaust the server's memory and trigger OutofMemory errors by repeatedly sending crafted requests.
Workaround
This vulnerability can be mitigated by not using ThreadLimitHandler and considering the use of QoSHandler instead to artificially limit resource utilization.
Details
Denial of Service (DoS) describes a family of attacks, all aimed at making a system inaccessible to its intended and legitimate users.
Unlike other vulnerabilities, DoS attacks usually do not aim at breaching security. Rather, they are focused on making websites and services unavailable to genuine users resulting in downtime.
One popular Denial of Service vulnerability is DDoS (a Distributed Denial of Service), an attack that attempts to clog network pipes to the system by generating a large volume of traffic from many machines.
When it comes to open source libraries, DoS vulnerabilities allow attackers to trigger such a crash or crippling of the service by using a flaw either in the application code or from the use of open source libraries.
Two common types of DoS vulnerabilities:
High CPU/Memory Consumption- An attacker sending crafted requests that could cause the system to take a disproportionate amount of time to process. For example, commons-fileupload:commons-fileupload.
Crash - An attacker sending crafted requests that could cause the system to crash. For Example, npm
wspackage
Remediation
Upgrade org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server to version 9.4.56, 10.0.24, 11.0.24, 12.0.9 or higher.

Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-http is an is a http module for jetty server.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) in the MetaDataBuilder.checkSize function. An attacker provide a very large or negative length value for the HTTP/2 HPACK header values. This can lead to an integer overflow, resulting in a very large buffer allocation on the server.

Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server is a lightweight highly scalable java based web server and servlet engine.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Resource Shutdown or Release due to an error in handling gzip compression in the GzipHandler. An attacker can corrupt data and inadvertently share it between requests by exploiting the improper release of a buffer when a gzip error occurs during the inflation of a request body.
Remediation
Upgrade org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server to version 9.4.57.v20241219 or higher.

Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server is a lightweight highly scalable java based web server and servlet engine.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Validation of Consistency within Input through ComplianceUtils.verify(HttpURI, HttpFields, HttpCompliance, ComplianceViolation.Listener) in jetty-core/jetty-http/src/main/java/org/eclipse/jetty/http/ComplianceUtils.java. An attacker can bypass host consistency checks by sending a request whose :authority pseudo-header and Host header name different hosts, causing Jetty to accept the request and expose conflicting host identities to different code paths. This lets attacker-controlled host information survive inside the request, so logic that relies on Request.getServerName() or the URI authority can see one host while code reading the raw Host header sees another. In deployments that use host-based routing, ACLs, redirects, or tenant isolation, this can lead to incorrect request handling, host-based access control bypass, and attacker-influenced URL generation or logging.
Notes
- HTTP/1.1 already had its own authority/Host consistency path in
HttpConnection/HttpChannelState; the gap was in the HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 server entry flow where the shared compliance check was invoked before that comparison happened. - The mismatch check only rejects when both values are present and differ after normalizing case and default ports, so requests with only one of
:authorityorHostpresent are not part of this issue.
Remediation
Upgrade org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server to version 9.4.61, 10.0.29, 11.0.29, 12.0.35, 12.1.9 or higher.

Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-http is an is a http module for jetty server.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Validation of Syntactic Correctness of Input via the HttpURI class due to insufficient validation on the authority segment of a URI. An attacker can manipulate the URI parsing to redirect requests or initiate server-side requests to unintended destinations by supplying malformed URIs that bypass validation checks.
Notes:
This is only exploitable if the application uses decoded user data as encoded URIs in conjunction with the
HttpURIclass used directly; The Jetty usage of the
HttpURIclass is not vulnerable.
Workaround
This vulnerability can be mitigated by not passing decoded user data as encoded URIs to any URI class/method, including HttpURI.

Overview
org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-http is an is a http module for jetty server.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Handling of Length Parameter Inconsistency via the HttpParser.java component due to accepting the + character proceeding the content-length value in a HTTP/1 header field. An attacker can use jetty in combination with a server that does not close the connection after rejecting such request and after sending a 400 response. This could result in request smuggling.
