NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream subversion package.

Subversion's mod_authz_svn module will crash if the server is using in-repository authz rules with the AuthzSVNReposRelativeAccessFile option and a client sends a request for a non-existing repository URL. This can lead to disruption for users of the service. This issue was fixed in mod_dav_svn+mod_authz_svn servers 1.14.1 and mod_dav_svn+mod_authz_svn servers 1.10.7

Improper Check for Dropped Privileges

  • Vulnerable module: bash
  • Introduced through: bash@5.0-6ubuntu2

Detailed paths

  • Introduced through: buildpack-deps:20.10-scm@* bash@5.0-6ubuntu2

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream bash package.

An issue was discovered in disable_priv_mode in shell.c in GNU Bash through 5.0 patch 11. By default, if Bash is run with its effective UID not equal to its real UID, it will drop privileges by setting its effective UID to its real UID. However, it does so incorrectly. On Linux and other systems that support "saved UID" functionality, the saved UID is not dropped. An attacker with command execution in the shell can use "enable -f" for runtime loading of a new builtin, which can be a shared object that calls setuid() and therefore regains privileges. However, binaries running with an effective UID of 0 are unaffected.

Remediation

There is no fixed version for Ubuntu:20.10 bash.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream coreutils package.

chroot in GNU coreutils, when used with --userspec, allows local users to escape to the parent session via a crafted TIOCSTI ioctl call, which pushes characters to the terminal's input buffer.

Detailed paths

  • Introduced through: buildpack-deps:20.10-scm@* curl@7.68.0-1ubuntu4.3
  • Introduced through: buildpack-deps:20.10-scm@* curl/libcurl3-gnutls@7.68.0-1ubuntu4.3
  • Introduced through: buildpack-deps:20.10-scm@* curl/libcurl4@7.68.0-1ubuntu4.3

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream curl package.

curl 7.7 through 7.76.1 suffers from an information disclosure when the -t command line option, known as CURLOPT_TELNETOPTIONS in libcurl, is used to send variable=content pairs to TELNET servers. Due to a flaw in the option parser for sending NEW_ENV variables, libcurl could be made to pass on uninitialized data from a stack based buffer to the server, resulting in potentially revealing sensitive internal information to the server using a clear-text network protocol.

Remediation

There is no fixed version for Ubuntu:20.10 curl.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream krb5 package.

An issue was discovered in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) through 1.16. There is a variable "dbentry->n_key_data" in kadmin/dbutil/dump.c that can store 16-bit data but unknowingly the developer has assigned a "u4" variable to it, which is for 32-bit data. An attacker can use this vulnerability to affect other artifacts of the database as we know that a Kerberos database dump file contains trusted data.

  • Vulnerable module: libgcrypt20
  • Introduced through: libgcrypt20@1.8.5-5ubuntu2

Detailed paths

  • Introduced through: buildpack-deps:20.10-scm@* libgcrypt20@1.8.5-5ubuntu2

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream libgcrypt20 package.

Libgcrypt before 1.8.8 and 1.9.x before 1.9.3 mishandles ElGamal encryption because it lacks exponent blinding to address a side-channel attack against mpi_powm, and the window size is not chosen appropriately. (There is also an interoperability problem because the selection of the k integer value does not properly consider the differences between basic ElGamal encryption and generalized ElGamal encryption.) This, for example, affects use of ElGamal in OpenPGP.

Remediation

There is no fixed version for Ubuntu:20.10 libgcrypt20.

Detailed paths

  • Introduced through: buildpack-deps:20.10-scm@* openssh/openssh-client@1:8.3p1-1ubuntu0.1

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream openssh package.

The client side in OpenSSH 5.7 through 8.4 has an Observable Discrepancy leading to an information leak in the algorithm negotiation. This allows man-in-the-middle attackers to target initial connection attempts (where no host key for the server has been cached by the client). NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply to the upstream python3.8 package.

The package python/cpython from 0 and before 3.6.13, from 3.7.0 and before 3.7.10, from 3.8.0 and before 3.8.8, from 3.9.0 and before 3.9.2 are vulnerable to Web Cache Poisoning via urllib.parse.parse_qsl and urllib.parse.parse_qs by using a vector called parameter cloaking. When the attacker can separate query parameters using a semicolon (;), they can cause a difference in the interpretation of the request between the proxy (running with default configuration) and the server. This can result in malicious requests being cached as completely safe ones, as the proxy would usually not see the semicolon as a separator, and therefore would not include it in a cache key of an unkeyed parameter.
